DPW Divisions:
  • Streets Division
    The Streets Division’s major responsibility is construction, operation and maintenance of over 86 miles of residential and major streets and City sidewalks. Supervision of the rubbish and disposal service of the City and traffic sign installation are also responsibilities of the Street Division.
  • Water Supply
    This division is responsible for the construction, operation, and maintenance of City water mains, service connections, and all other facilities pertaining to the City water supply system, including meter installation. It has charge of all pumping facilities and is responsible for the pumping of water into and through the City Water Distribution system. All of Oak Park is served by public water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer facilities. Water is supplied to Oak Park by the City of Detroit.
  • Parks and Forestry
    This division is in charge of the control and regulation of the planting of trees, and of the removal, development, maintenance, management and operation of parks, boulevards, municipal parking lots and markets.
  • Motor Pool
    This department is responsible for the purchase and maintenance of the City’s fleet.
