The Department of Information Technology
is responsible for the acquisition,
maintenance and coordination of the
technologies that significantly enhance
the delivery of citizen services by all
other municipal departments. In doing
so, it provides and maintains all
hardware and software dedicated to
gathering, analyzing and disseminating
information both within City departments
and to the general public. This includes
video, audio and computer-based
equipment used by OPTV-15 for cablecasts
to homes throughout the community.
The department’s mission focuses
primarily on the municipal
communications infrastructure: for
example, the purchase and implementation
of computers, and the operation of the
local area network (LAN) system which
interconnects City offices.
In
addition to its many internal support
responsibilities, Information Technology
also serves residents directly, by
providing and constantly updating this
Web Page.
